call out culture, the ask box swarming, the indirect-but-so-clearly-about-one-person posts… the reblogs with so. much. vitriol. it’s too much for me.

i know this is where lots of us find and build community. that is not what i’m talking about. teacake called it (paraphrasing) people deeply hurt by their experiences with oppression lashing out specifically to hurt otger people. listen, y’all. everyone you disagree with isn’t an enemy. & by some of the shit i have seen here, some folks don’t know that. or don’t care to acknowledge it.

supporting your folk usually comes when your folk indicate what they need. and you give them that. i don’t know how some of these behaviors are helpful to anyone. but, since nobody asked me, maybe i’m not supposed to. that’s fine.

i admit that i’m what you call internet old. 32 this fall, been online in some community or other since i was 16. know what has kept me from losing my shit? taking breaks.

what are y’all experiencing in realtime/ space that makes tumblr safe for you? if you don’t feel safe, why the fuck are you here?

my answer to that last question has me here on a part time, mostly lurking basis.
