dear all of the people i’ve met who still measure their safety by proximity to police: check yourself and figure out why “calling the police” is on your list of things to do when you feel unsafe or in need of help. consider what that means for you personally and how your privilege is reflected in that reaction. realize that calling the police is not an option for so many poc, queer people, trans* people, gsmpoc, undocumented people, documented immigrants, etc.
